Recently, the BBC published an article with extensive excerpts from a BBC audio podcast containing an excellent overview of the Bahá’i Faith.  The BBC Podcast is the latest in the BBC World Service’s “Heart and Soul” series which aims to “explore different experiences of spirituality from around the world” while getting “beyond superficial notions of spirituality and religion”.

Last Continental Bahá’í Temple nears completion

The upcoming completion of a Bahá’í Temple in South America will mark an important milestone in the History of the Bahá’í Faith. On completion of this edifice, continental Bahá’í Houses of worship will have been located on the five continents of the Earth together with temples marking three other geographically important regions: Panama, Australia and – representing the important Island cultures – Western Samoa.

Bahá’ís from Redwood City participated in a gardening effort recently to commemorate the arrival in San Francisco of an important Vistor over a century ago. That visitor was ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, son of the Prophet-Founder of the Bahá’í Faith.
During His stay in San Francisco, ‘Abdu’l-Bahá often frequented the area of Lloyd Lake in Golden Gate Park. Remembering the Homeless

Bahá’ís and friends in Redwood City participated in an effort for the homeless to bring some comfort to those less fortunate at this time of year.
The effort was launched by Andrea Carranza, a member of the Redwood City Bahá’í community who is also a student at San Francisco State University. “Spending so much time in the city I see so many homeless people …so that’s how this idea originally occurred to me”, Andrea said.
